Conroe, Texas

If you drive around downtown Conroe for long enough, you will eventually run across a sprawling complex of buildings just north of downtown that was once the home of the CISD administration building. The only CISD area left is the official CISD Swimming pool.

Way back in the olden days, the CISD pool was the Conroe YMCA. It is where I took swimming lessons as a child and generally developed a bad attitude about the YMCA swim instructors.

I don't know when, but the YMCA moved to what is now the Conroe Recreation Center near Candy Cane park. Once upon a time in High School, I played raquet ball there.

Now the YMCA is located off of South Loop 336, but probably not for long.

Anyone else remember taking swimming lessons at the Old Old YMCA?
